That Moment

Just this morning
The hollyhocks have buds!
Where did they come from,
Waiting to burst forth?

And there, full grown,
My neighbour’s son – a man!
All dressed up smartly
For his first school prom.

That moment comes,
Breathtakingly revealed,
When something launches
After years of growth,

And gifts itself
Into the universe,
A shining crystal
Formed in its own style,

That sings the heart,
Which for a while is shown
Its true connection
To the vast ‘I am’.
